Owners Marios and Brooke!

Owner’s Spotlight

Marios and Brooke met nearly 10 years. They have grown in themselves, in their love for each other, and with an appreciation of the space in which they exist.

Duluth is an amazing place full of beauty, energy, and unique experiences you will never find anywhere else. Duluth is what brought them together and they are thrilled to be moving forward, creating a shared dream, creating a space where they (and you!) can grow together and build something beautiful.

Meet Marios

Born and raised in Duluth, MN, Marios has lived in the Northland for his entire life. He is a master grower, with over 25 years cultivating and breeding cannabis. He also specializes in cannabis genetics.

His knowledge isn’t just limited to cannabis. Following in the footsteps of his Greek ancestors, Marios grows vegetables and fruits, helping to supplement healthy food for his family.

Meet Brooke

Growing up in central Minnesota where the summers are hot and humid, her fondest memories are of standing in the midst of rows of green beans and sugar snap peas, gobbling them up right off the vine, or picking her way through the endless rows of raspberries in her grandpa's garden. The smell of fresh soil right after it rains and the feel of warm earth under her bare feet instilled in her a love of all things growing and natural.

Building community and creating environments are essential to who she is and what she has been working towards since moving to Duluth in 2011. Grow Your Own is the next step in this important journey, while sharing her love of plants and gardens. Her hope is to build a kind and connected growing community.

Caring for plants brings a sense of peace. In an otherwise chaotic world, I’m able to find calm through watering houseplants, tending to my tomatoes and planting flowers. Creating garden space, house plant cultivation, and digging in dirt  are things I hold dear; a way to connect to the earth and one another.
